Desert Planet - Mario Built My Hot Rod

Desert Planet makes some great oldschool-ish 8-bit music, tho can't be limited to just one genre.
Judging this one was tough, balancing between 3 and 4 stars. I gave the better one because of one single track. The opening track, Return of the Ninja Droids, would be 10 stars on a 5 star scale, but the rest of the songs didn't quite have the same feeling. I instantly forgot them after listening, unlike ROTND.

Ice Ages - This Killing Emptiness

Ice Ages is a brilliant electronic/indrustial side project by the genious Richard Lederer (of Summoning fame).
The songs are cold, dark and gloomy, and a very intense atmosphere remains throughout the whole album. Excellent use of echoes and keyboards, but the special thing (to me at least) are the machines pounding.
Very original, very recommended.

Future Prophecies - Warlords Rising

So this was my first drum'n'bass album ever, recommended to me by a friend. I've been fascinated of the genre for a while now and have wanted to try it, and will try more after this.
The album itself was maybe a slight disappointment, a bit boring in my opinion, but still ok.
My personal favorite by far was the song September, a nice variation to the other songs.

Ulver - Perdition City

One of my all-time non-metal favorites. Perdition City has an great, somehow comforting yet creepy atmosphere. A true masterpiece. Garm (the headman of Ulver) is a genious. Not many bands can do some great raw black metal albums, and then to just switch into a complete different genre and make as awesome albums. Espesially Nowhere/Catastrophe is amazing, I recommend!
